BUMPDATE: 24 WEEKS

BUMPDATE 24 WEEKS

WOWZERS!!!  Can you guys believe I have reached the 6 months mark?  WHERE in the WORLD has the time gone?  I am now officially freaking out about everything we have yet to do.  Yes, I have a precious Pinterest page with all sorts of inspiration, but we have not purchased a SINGLE thing.  We are headed out on our BABYMOON (yay!) soon, so hopefully, there will be plenty of time by the pool to get some things ordered.  Also, stay tuned for my 1st Trimester MUST HAVES coming soon!  THANK YOU ALL for the fabulous advice you gave me at my last BUMPDATE.  I LOVED reading all your funny stories, suggestions, and predictions. 🙂  Please keep them coming!

How far along: 24 weeks on the dot!

Cravings: No cravings!  I am back to my usual pre-pregnancy chips and chocolate addictions (only when I splurge).  We do have a bite of 80% cacao dark chocolate each night.

Aversions: None to report!  WHOO HOO!!!

Diet: Paleo!  We really try to cook as much as possible and focus on whole foods: seasonal, local veggies and lean meats.  The key is avoiding processed food and watching my sugar intake.  I have a major fear of gestational diabetes, so I am REALLY cutting back the sugar before my test in 3 weeks.

Weight gain: It varies.  Really anywhere between 12-15 lbs.  15 lbs after our trip to Napa!  12 lbs after a few days of my normal clean eating.

Bump watch: There is no “watch” anymore!  It has made its presence known and is the perfect accessory.

Mood: Mood is great!  I am embracing the changes and enjoying being preggo.  EXTRA happy this week anticipating our trip to Dominica!  One weird change: I am a LOT more laid back when pregnant.  Normally, I am super intense all the time, so I am enjoying (and so is the hubs) my go with the flow mentality!

How do I feel? I honestly have never felt better.  I traveled for 7 days straight last week…BHM>BOS>SFO>NAPA>BHM and really did not feel terrible at all.  I was tired by the end of the night and ready to hit the sack, but I had lot’s of energy during the day.  Again, I credit this to my workouts.  They are a lifesaver!

Body changes: Since my last bump date, I don’t really feel like much has changed at all.  My bump is getting bigger, but I feel like my weight gain is evening out some. (Someone please remind me of this when I go to put on a swimsuit).  My belly button is hanging on for dear life!  I feel like it will become an outie any day now.

Workout regimen: Y’all, I swear I have become addicted to exercising.  I have even found myself waking up at 5am JUST to get a WOD in when I travel (NOT a morning person).  Don’t worry, I am being EXTRA careful.  But the energy I get (and the sense of accomplishment) is something I look forward to everyday.  I honestly think my pregnancy would be much more difficult without the daily exercise.  I am definitely modifying where needed but feel even stronger now than I did pre-pregnanncy.  I have even beaten the hubs a time or two. 😉

Girl or Boy Prediction: I hear GIRL all the time, but people have been saying BOY a lot more lately.  I don’t know if it’s because Ryan always talks to the baby like it’s a boy or what, but I am starting to think BOY.  Speaking of…we have NO BOY NAMES!  Please help us!!!!

Nursery Updates: I can’t even.  I HAVE to get going on this.  In the meantime, check out The Lutz Nest on Pinterest.  Super cute ideas…now I just need to put them in action.

DAD: Ryan has been SO SO awesome!  I cannot brag on him enough!  He is SUPER excited and has been really hands on. He is hoping “number 2” is a little boy, but I know he would be such an amazing girl dad.  He is constantly talking to the baby and has really embraced my pregnancy.  (awww cue the sappy rom-com tunes)

BABY LUTZ: Baby Lutz is moving around like crazy, especially at night!  It really is the craziest feeling.  It feels like a butterfly is flying around in my tummy, and some times I swear the baby is hiccuping.  He or she is the size of an eggplant and is growing really quickly now.  Weighing well over a pound, he or she will double in weight over the next few weeks!  I am hoping to get another ultrasound at my next visit.  Fingers crossed!  If so, I will post a picture of his or her precious little face.

Well, that’s about it for this update.  A few posts coming up…1st Trimester Must Haves, NAPA, and another MY CHIC BUMP post.  Last week, I had the pleasure of guesting posting on the amazing blog, My Life Well Loved.  I was SO honored when Heather invited me to post while she was on vacation.  If you are not following her, you definitely should ASAP!  If you missed it, make sure you check out my recipe for a FABULOUS Citrus and Fennel Salad, as well as seasonal eating tips: How to Eat Seasonally.  Lastly, I collaborated with Healthy, Beauty, Life magazine to provide travel tips for their readers.  Before you plan your summer vacays, make sure you check out my article HOW TO Plan the BEST TRIP EVER.  You DON’T want to miss it!
