FALLING FOR GRAY

Falling for Gray Life Lutzurious

Hi loves!!!  I hope everyone is doing well!  Asher-man is doing GREAT (2 months old next week!) and changing literally everyday.  I will make sure to post a 2 month update soon!

So, of course we all LOVE fall-time.  The weather is perfect, football season is in full swing (um WTH happened with my Rebs this weekend), and the clothes are ah-may-zing.  However, the weather right now, while perfect for sipping cocktails on a patio, makes things a little difficult when it comes to picking out what to wear.  While I am ready to bust out the chunky knits and over the knee boots, that probably won’t go over too well in 80-degree weather.  So, I am constantly searching my closet for transitional items, so I can spend my monies on true fall clothes.  And this time of year I am truly FALLING FOR GRAY, black, and other neutral colors.

This weekend I attended a baby shower for one of my dear friends.  The day of the shower, I woke up, and it was 50 degrees outside.  BRRRRRRR.  But I wanted to wear a dress or skirt of some sort.  Is it too early for tights?  Meh, I dunno…I felt weird wearing tights.  I REALLY wanted to bust out my boots, so I started digging into the black hole aka my closet.  I did discover several outfits I had forgotten about.  Remember the shopping trip to Atlanta we went on last Christmas?  I had purchased some awesome pieces from Helmet Lang, but some of them were transitional pieces for spring.  By the time I could wear them, I was pretty pregnant and unable to wear some of the outfits.  I had purchased this super cute jersey knit skirt and top.  I wore the top all throughout my pregnancy, but the skirt was fitted and high-waisted.  Obv that did not work well while I was pregnant.  However, this outfit is PERFECT for this time of year.  PS, it feels amazing to be back in regular clothes!  You could also throw on a leather jacket to add another dimension and stay warm when the temperatures start dropping.  The grayish color is the perfect neutral and both the fabric and fit work well with these Stuart Weitzman over the knee boots (SPLURGE purchase that was well worth the money). Keep the jewelry simple and voila…you have the perfect date night or daytime party outfit.  This outfit is no longer on the Helmut Lang website, but I have linked up some similar options at the end of this post.

And can we talk about my hair for a second?  I mean really. Helen at Wheelhouse Salon is a GENIUS!  She and I clicked from day 1.  A few weeks before I had Asher, she got a little creative…and I could not be happier with it.  Thanks Helen!  Aren’t you proud of me for styling it ALL ON MY OWN?  And with a newborn?  Seriously though, this hairstyle is extremely easy and VERY stylish.

What are your go-to transitional pieces right now?  Don’t forget to follow Life Lutzurious on Instagram for more outfit ideas and super cute pictures of Asher!
