CAMO + SPARKLE

Happy Tuesday, y’all! I hope everyone had a FABULOUS Easter weekend! I am FINALLY getting over pink eye…goodness, that was no joke. I left the house on Saturday for the first time since Wednesday to go to lunch and again Sunday to go to Whole Foods. It was a wild weekend let me tell you. BUT, I absolutely looved my family time with Ryan and Mini. Ryan and I have both been traveling oh so much, so it was really nice to just relax and cuddle with our Little Buddy.

For my look, I went super casual. This camo t-shirt though! If you have not heard of the company Z Supply…CHECK THEM OUT! They have THE softest t-shirts in the world. I only own this one came one, but I am about to stock up. I paired with my FAV James Jeans distressed skinnies, and SPARKLE sneakers. YES, I said SPARKLE SNEAKERS. Sometimes when I travel…ok let’s be honest, ALL the time when I travel, I like to ship myself little happies to the hotel, so I have something to look forward to when I arrive. I had these delivered to my hotel when I was in Orlando a few weeks ago. Isn’t that a great idea? I am usually already a little bummed about living Mini, and these little happies cheer me up instantly! Anyways, I have been wearing them non-stop. They dress up the “jeans and a t-shirt” look and pair perfectly with my Jenny Bird accessories…voila! The perfect Saturday outfit! Oh, and PS…I’m sure you noticed that I am wearing glasses. I am THAT PERSON who sleeps in her contacts every.single.night. I know, I know. So, it was odd for me to take these pictures wearing my glasses, but hell, why not rock em if you gotta wear em.

For Mini, he is rocking one of his FAV brands: NUNUNU. How precious are these drop crotch pants? I can’t get over how he literally went from baby to kid overnight!! I love how his Freshly Picked moccs work so well with his look.

For those of you that don’t live in Birmingham, we are going through a renaissance of sorts. We have always been known for our food scene, but the revitalization has really taken off in the past 5 years or so. Restaurants, bars, breweries…you name it…are popping up everywhere. I love our nod to all things local and the farm to table movement that has taken the city by storm. Frank Stitt was the OG of farm to table dining in the Southeast, so it makes sense that others are following suit. I have been dying to try the latest establishment to hit Homewood: Real + Rosemary. When you approach the restaurant, there is an adorable open air patio for al fresco dining. As you walk in, everyone is very nice and accommodating. This restaurant is known as “fast casual,” so you order then sit down. They only serve cocktails after 5, so unfortunately I wasn’t able to try one out for you all. Real + Rosemary, can we get some lunch cocktails?? We started with the collard pesto dip with fresh, raw vegetables, and it was absolutely DELISH. The hubs had the chicken plate with sweet and spicy slaw and roasted Brussels sprouts with butternut squash, and I had the Southwest chicken salad. The food was very fresh and clean, but also very tasty and hearty. Probably the best part of the meal was the ICE CREAM SANDWICH. I am a SUCKER for dessert. Every. Single. Time. I actually visited again yesterday for a lunch meeting, and I was quickly reminded of the cute decor and buzzy scene. The tables are made of white marble and reclaimed wood, and the natural light entering the open dining room is very inviting. I love the clean, rustic feel, with the rosemary plants surrounding the building, which reminded of my travels to Napa. The service is top notch, and the food is very solid. And what I love the most? They focus on whole ingredients. You guys will have to try it!
